Stáge in Thiés, Senegal, West Africa
21 August 1999

Hi there,

I just wanted to sqy thqt every thing is going very well. My health has been great, my job has been fun, I have a lot of friends, etc. Stáge still feels like summer camp. Soon it will be different becquse I am going to Guinea next Thursdqy morning. I am having trouble with this computer because it is in the European format. I hope everybody is doing well, especially Melissa with the pregnancy and stuff.

I traveled to the beach and to St. Louis (a colonial town that looked just like France.) I also went to a national park and saw birds, gazelles, red monkeys, and giant turtles. There are a lot of cool bugs and wildlife here. I am hoping to take kids on nature walks when I get to Guinea.

My language abilities are coming along well too.

Mike
